Lars Runge
VP Engineering
With 15 years of hands-on experience at Jabil, Lars is uniquely positioned to lead our Jabil Optics engineering team. With his experience working in and studying product design, Lars has seen a lot of trends and technologies come and go. This reinforces for him why it’s so important to understand what makes a product idea feasible and future ready. Lars has a Master of Engineering and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Jena with a specialization in Precision Engineering, Physics Engineering, Fundamental Sciences. Prior to joining Jabil Optics, Lars worked at Carl Zeiss Jena and at the University of Applied Sciences, Jena. Lars is equally passionate about climate change education and music.

Justin Roe

Justin brings a wide depth of knowledge and education to Jabil Optics. He has a BSc in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. This education combined with many years in leadership positions in a range of technology companies including Automation Engineering Inc., Axsys Technologies, and as a management consultant for Analysis Group, makes Justin a valuable member of the Jabil Optics team. Justin has been leading innovation and driving success at Jabil for 8 years, sharing his expertise in active alignment, automation, and innovation management. Growing up, Justin only saw cats without tails. It turns out that on the Isle of Man, cats do not have tails.

Pascal has been leading teams and product pathways at Jabil for 16 years. Before joining Jabil, he worked at Schott and Carl Zeiss. Pascal has a broad range of skills and experience including strong organizational and analytical skills and a deep understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of optical product design. Pascal is committed to supporting Jabil Optics teams to reach their full potential. He has a Master of Industrial Engineering, University of Applied Sciences, Jena. Pascal is as passionate about sports and being active as he is about technology. To unwind Pascal plays soccer, table tennis, kick boxing, beach volleyball, and hits the slopes for some skiing.

Seb has been with Jabil for 14 years. He received his master’s degree in Engineering Material Sciences from the ECAM in Rennes, then joined Thales Microelectronics in France for a couple of years. Having worked on a variety of complex NPI projects with multi-cultural teams, Seb brings to Jabil a wealth of experience in NPI management, and camera and projecting system manufacturing processes. French by origin, he has been living in China for over a decade now and come to love its people and mentality. When he is not introducing new products, he enjoys woodworking and winemaking.

As the Director of Engineering at Jabil, David brings a deep range of experience and knowledge in optics product design and development and design for manufacturing. David has been with Jabil for two years. Prior to Jabil, he worked at Shenzhen Seasons Technology. A consummate learner, David has a BS and MS, Mechanical Engineering, ILAN University, Taiwan and is currently completing his MBA. Away from the office, David pursues his interests in new technology research and relaxes with singing and getting together with friends for a game of pool.

Frank has been part of the Jabil Optics supply chain team for 10 years. He thrives on working in a constantly changing environment and using his technical range to find the best possible solution for customers. Frank has a unique set of skills and experience in automotive (production, engineering, product launch, design), metal (molding, CNC, turning), plastic injection molding, manufacturing, and supply chain. He has a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, University of Applied Sciences, Jena Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule. Before joining Jabil, Frank worked at BOSCH Automotive. Frank likes to tell his colleagues that he can literally and figuratively fix anything (we see this as a challenge – what do you want Frank to fix?).

Mark has 24 years of machine automation experience and 20+ years of experience in active alignment deployments. This real-world experience in active alignment and automation systems gives Mark the skills and knowledge required to be an active leader within Jabil. Mark has been with Jabil for 8 years. Prior to Jabil, he worked at Kasalis and Automation Engineering Inc. Mark has a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. Mark is the parent of two active young boys who keep him fit for weekend golfing and downhill skiing trips.

Mathias has been at Jabil Optics for 14 years. Prior to joining Jabil, he worked at Carl Zeiss and Doctor Optics. Mathias has a Bachelor of Physics, University of Dresden and 30+ years of experience working in image projection, cameras, lenses, light sources, image sensors, and MEMS. This long history of optics expertise makes Mathias ideally suited to making customer ideas and visions a reality. He is always excited to learn about and work with cutting edge technologies that push the boundaries of what was believed possible. Away from the office, Mathias enjoys a good wine, loves to travel to the warmth of Italy and spend time with his grandchild.

Rich has been working at Jabil Optics for 8 years. Prior to Jabil Optics, he worked at Automation Engineering Inc. In his role of Director of Software, Rich sees every customer as a new Jabil Optics partner and works to find win-win solutions that help companies continue to innovate. Rich has a BA in Business Administration from Michigan State University and has been actively involved in software solutions for active alignment of optical and photo-electronic devices for over 25 years.

Shawn has over 20 years of professional experience in the commercial, defense, and aerospace industries. He has a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from The University of Massachusetts and an MS in Computer Science from Boston University and is PMP certified. Shawn's experience leading large, technically complex programs and additional experience in engineering leadership, custom software and hardware development, makes him a valuable member of the Jabil Optics team. Shawn stays physically active with cycling and as the busy parent of three children.

Thomas has been part of the Jabil Optics team for 15 years. Working in Business Development/Design Acquisition, he is on the forefront of technology research and innovation. Thomas has a Diploma in Physics from Friedrich Schiller University. Prior to joining Jabil Optics, he worked at Carl Zeiss Jena, and Omicron Vakuumphysik. Thomas combines his specialties in projection technology and automotive optical applications with his deep technical understanding of opto-mechanical systems. This advanced knowledge and his experience working with global customers, gives him a unique skillset within the Jabil Optics team. Thomas’s first job after university was in Japan, and he hasn’t stopped traveling the world. When he isn’t traveling, Thomas enjoys working on his house and spending time with his family.
