Recently, a team of Suzhou SIP Plastics employees had the opportunity to empower two local schools to provide the best education to its students.
Given the rugged terrain of the surrounding mountains and inaccessibility, students at the Baizhu Tzuji Primary School often rely on books to see outside their community and expand their knowledge of the world around them. Suzhou employees donated 1,000 books and furniture to create a library for the students. Additionally, the Jabil site donated much-needed school supplies and sporting equipment, such as basketballs, jump ropes and badminton sets.
The school praised Jabil Suzhou SIP Plastics employees in a letter, stating, “You have made our school library and sports room better, encouraging our students to study and work harder.”
Employees from the site also visited Renai Primary School, a facility dedicated to providing education and rehabilitation to children with physical and mental disabilities. They spent the day building a reading corner for the 145 students to enjoy and interacting with the children. They also donated a variety of tools for educational and rehabilitative use for the students.
One employee shared, “We have been participating in charity events for seven years, and by donating to those in need, employees are also learning to be grateful for what we have.”
The 10th Anniversary of the Deliver Best Practices Competition celebrated the 'good' Jabil sites are doing in our local communities around the world. Thirty-two finalist teams received funds to support Jabil Cares initiatives in their local communities. Jabil Cares, our community outreach and volunteerism platform, supports localized efforts around specific causes related to Jabil's three main pillars: Education, Empowerment and the Environment.
